As a parent, my advice is, Back Off. Give the kid a break. He's not even three yet. We hopefully gave A. big girl pants for her 3rd birthday, after a few delightful successes, but it just did not take. When she was 3 years + 6 months, she mastered it in a day. But clearly she was ready. Unfortunately there is just no way to force them to use the toilet, and the more a parent wrangles with it, the more the kid (perhaps unconsciously) digs the power he has over the parent. His lack of toilet mastery at 2 years 11 months is not a parenting failure. I know you don’t want to hear this, but. As a parent, my advice is, Back Off.
